What This is All About

In exchange for a small registration fee, we allow you to experience a deluxe resort during a 1 week stay in order to discover what vacation ownership has to offer and you as a guest benefit by enjoying a great accommodation at a deluxe hotel resort through a low key and no pressure program. These stays are usually offered during our local trade shows. Resort developers benefit by receiving qualified prospects.

Our History

In 1996, Patrick Jaffre started T.O. Unlimited, a company focused on providing sales services to resorts on Saint Martin/Sint Maarten. Most of the guests they handled originally were from Europe, namely France, Switzerland, and Spain.

After that, FlyBy Caribbean was created in 2002 by Patrick Jaffre and his wife Christiane to provide marketing services to guests from the French surrounding islands by inviting them to experience a 1 week accommodation at a deluxe resort while being introduced to the various vacation programs available at the resort.

From 2006 until now, St. Martin/St. Maarten has become a hot vacation destination for people living in other Caribbean islands wanting to further explore the Caribbean. Accordingly, we now visit up to 8 tradeshows per year at our neighboring islands of Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Barbados, and Trinidad & Tobago.


A Take on Vacation Ownership

Vacation ownership is usually offered at a vacation site during a 90 minute sales presentation in exchangefor a free gift, such as casino chips or boat trips.Guests are required to make a yes-or-no choice after 90 minutes. Some people rightly feel this is a lot of pressure.

FlyBy Caribbean offers a totally different approach — through accommodations offered at a trade show, qualified prospects are invited to visit the resort for a 8 days/7nights stay. You still are obligated to take a 90 minute tour. In the meantime, and during the rest of your week, you are welcome to discover the resort and the destination on your own. You will be able to hear directly from other existing owners as they share their experiences with you. There is no obligation to purchase anything. It's our low-key approach that explains why our company is successful and celebrating its 25th anniversary!



Patrick Jaffre, owner managing director

Patrick was born and raised in Paris, where he lived until 1991. During the eighties, he ran his own printing and publishing shop, focusing on Art & Literature. He and Christiane moved to Sint Maarten in the early nineties, got married, and live here with their twosons.

From 1993 until 1995, Patrick worked at Pelican Resort and Casino (now called Simpson Bay Resort) as a sales representative and assistant manager. While General Sales Manager for Sapphire Beach Club from 1996 until 1999, Patrick lead a cosmopolitan team of 15 persons to successfully achieve the developer's unit-sales goals. From 2000 to 2001, Patrick was the in-house Sales Manager for the Suntera Corporation, a US-owned company. He created FlyBy Caribbeanin 2002.



Christiane Unser, administrative director

Christiane was born and raised in the south of Germany. She studied the Hotel Industry and Tourism in college and specialized in the marketing sector. She has extensive knowledge of the hotel and tourism industry both in Europe and worldwide. She oversees all the day-to-day operations of FlyBy Caribbean and handles all registrations, reservations, and any questions and/or comments you may have. In Sint Maarten, Christiane has had a rich and diverse professional career working as Sales Director at the Dawn Beach Club as well as a Sales Representative for RE/MAX Sint Maarten.
